The LSE Open Championship
was held at Barnet Pool Club on 29th November. For the second tournament
in a row, the final was contested between Robert Li and Lee Mager.
And for the second time in a row, Robert won, this time in an absurdly
pressurised match that went all the way to a deciding frame, in
which Lee decided to topspin the white into the same pocket as his
last ball, somehow hoping that this strategy would get him nicely
on the blackFDSJFSjfsdjfsodfhosifsfJDFKLSFJSLDFKRRRGRHHR. Pardon
me, I appear to have spilled some rage all over my keyboard.
Anyway, special mentions
go to a) Alpesh Varsani, for being way, way better than I thought,
b) to Chris Gully for getting an awesome break and dish which means
he joins the elite ranks of pool players, and c) to Alvin Chan who
ended up drinking 10 pints during the tournament.
